Marcelo Eugenio Trevino is a Mexican-Canadian composer and producer who brings stories to life through music, with a focus on children's programming and animation. A graduate of Berklee College of Music in Film Scoring and Songwriting (2000/2001), Marcelo has dedicated his career to creating scores that resonate with audiences of all ages.
Recent highlights of Marcelo's work include scoring The Casagrandes Movie for Nickelodeon Animation/Netflix, which quickly became one of Netflix's Top 10 Movies worldwide. He also contributed his talents to Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Camp Crush for KickstartEnt/Mattel and YouTube, reaching an incredible viewership of over 80.5 million. Currently, he is scoring the Canadian Screen Award winning series SUPER TEAM CANADA for Atomic Cartoons/Bell Media, a series spearheaded by Will Arnett with a stellar cast and writing team.
Marcelo's extensive portfolio includes projects such as the Emmy award-winning animated series The Last Kids on Earth for Netflix, the action-packed soccer feature K-9 World Cup for Tricoast Studios/Amazon Studios, PBS's Rocket Saves the Day, and Disney's animated series Astra Force for Graphic India.
Beyond animation, Marcelo has established himself in the music industry through collaborations with artists and bands, most notably Mexico's leading alternative rock band, Panda, where he served as an arranger, producer, and keyboard player. His work with Panda earned nominations for both a Latin Grammy and a Grammy, alongside contributions to MTV Unplugged performances and live tours. Marcelo's songwriting and producing experience comes through in his award-winning solo album, Todo, a project close to his heart.
Driven by a love for animation and storytelling, Marcelo approaches every project with creativity, energy, and collaboration. His commitment to excellence has earned him two Leo Awards for Best Musical Score in Animation or Series (2020, 2021), affirming his role as a leading composer in the industry.
When he's not immersed in music, Marcelo enjoys exploring the latest in cinema and music technology and spending time with his three children, Nina, Emma, and Marcelo, in the beautiful surroundings of Squamish, BC.

Marcelo was fantastic to work with. He's gracious, with an open attitude to notes and collaboration, and was quick and reliable, never missing a deadline. He has a fantastic ability to write in many different musical styles and his compositions elevated the emotion of the scenes of our show and really brought them to life.
